Established in 1931, St Patrick’s College Silverstream is an integrated Catholic boys’ secondary school with a proud record of sporting achievement. To continue this tradition, the school is creating a state-of-the-art sports hub, with a new gymnasium, athletics track and indoor aquatic centre.

The gymnasium includes changing facilities, a weights room, classrooms, offices, and storage areas. The building has been greatly admired for its design, the quality of finish, and the way the building relates to its geographical surroundings.

Careful consideration was paid to ensure maximum comfort levels for the occupants at minimum cost. The design also allows for future expansion and integration with the future track and field to the north.

Functional aspects of the new gymnasium include:

  • a multi-use gymnasium, accommodating one full size basketball court or two badminton or volleyball courts;
  • natural ventilation to the main gymnasium;
  • acoustic treatment to all spaces;
  • gymnasium lighting adjustable for basketball, badminton, or volleyball court layouts;
  • good natural light and environmental control;
  • the latest audiovisual technology;
  • wheelchair access to all spaces.

We believe the completed building will benefit St Patrick’s College and the greater community for many years to come. We are proud to have been employed as the main contractor in the delivery of such an outstanding building.
