Nestled among beautiful surrounding environment sits Rudolf Steiner School’s new teaching and learning complex - an interesting and technically challenging one-off build.

Our involvement on this project began in 2018 with an extensive and prolonged pre-construction period. Construction began on-site in March 2021 and the learning space was operational in time for the start of Term 4, 2022.

The new two-level learning space was constructed on steep terrain beside the existing and fully operational school. Vegetation needed to be cleared, along with excavation, services relocations, and retaining walls constructed.

The building has been constructed with large reinforced concrete piles, structural steel, main frame timber and bracing of floors and walls.

The narrow and restricted access to the site was also a challenge that needed to be overcome.

Each level was designed with classroom space, bathroom facilities, and teacher / administration space and offices. The balcony on level 2 extends with a footbridge to an existing learning block. Our Joinery Team contributed to the stairs, kitchen joinery, and storage units for this project.

Maycroft Construction are excited to have brought this project to life and are confident the new Teaching Block complex will benefit the existing school to create an amazing space to teach and learn.
