Maycroft have been engaged to deliver the SPIRE project at the Palmerston North hospital which will see the conversion and refurbishment of existing facilities relating to Surgical, Procedural, Interventional, Recovery, Expansion, (SPIRE).

The project is divided over two stages. The first stage sees the addition of two new Procedure rooms, an enlarged Recovery Area and an expansion to the supporting clinical and non-clinical resources such as staff amenities. Stage 2 sees the addition of two new Operating Theatres and the establishment of a new Cardiac Catheter Lab.

Working within a hospital environment which is relied upon 24 hours a day, 7 days a week doesn't come without challenges.

The upgrade works are located in very close proximity to the Accident and Emergency department, operating theatres, procedural rooms, and sterile areas. Surrounding spaces are also used by staff, patients, and the general public.
