Manukura was established in 2004 as a kura fostering academic and sporting excellence in Māori students. With nearing 200 students, a growing roll, and being disjointed across several sites, a need was highlighted of a more permanent and connected campus.
Maycroft were engaged by the Ministry of Education for the Design and Build of this new campus on a greenfield site adjacent to Massey University. When complete, the new campus will be set to provide modern learning spaces, sports facilities and a wharekai (dining hall) for talented tamariki.
Through the design phase we were able to assist the Ministry of Education through many feasibility and budget challenges, ensuring the build will be fit for purpose.
As we enter the enabling and construction phase, we bring not only our wealth of local construction experience, but an appreciation of what this project means for ourselves, Manukura and the Palmerston North communities.
Watch this space as this exciting build progresses.
