a bit About the role...
  • Providing advice, guidance and support to managers and employees, and leading ER/HR processes
  • Ensuring ERA compliance (monitoring legislation/employment law changes and implementing relevant updates)
  • Talent acquisition and onboarding, recruiting for culture fit and culture add
  • Contributing to P&C project work

This is a full-time, 12–18 month fixed-term position covering parental leave for our People & Culture Advisor, running for the duration of their leave.

Based in Petone, as our People & Culture Advisor, you’ll be the go-to for people advice, supporting managers with ER matters, recruitment, and improving how we work as a business.  The P&C team itself is small but mighty – including this Advisor role we are a team of 3 – reporting into the People & Culture Lead and supported by a Coordinator.

You’ll bring solid HR experience and confidence across employment relations, performance conversations, and recruitment. You’ll be comfortable working alongside managers, offering practical advice, and getting stuck into both day-to-day support and improvement work across systems, processes, and ways of working.

Your Responsibilities...

  • A strong employee experience focus
  • HR generalist capability across all core HR functions
  • Ability to support managers and team leaders across a wide range of people-related matters
  • 3+ years in an HR or P&C Advisory role, with an in-depth knowledge of current employment law
  • Capability to lead people projects, including driving culture, improving systems and ways of working
  • A flexible and adaptable mindset
  • Willingness to get stuck in and do what’s necessary
