We delivered a modern new working space for Beca’s Palmerston North team. Designed to foster collaboration and engagement, the revamped office has an open plan layout, bold contrasting colours and creative use of glass manifestations. Private meeting rooms are designed to integrate seamlessly with the rest of the building, without detracting from the feeling of spaciousness.

The space is divided into sections using an internal aluminium partitioning system with extensive glazing throughout. An acoustic wall panel system in the meeting rooms will help manage noise.

We were engaged to undertake the fit-out of the first level of the building, which has recently been earthquake strengthened. Our scope of work also included partial demolition and construction of services and internal partitions. Extensive fire rating was required for code compliance.

The project involved a number of challenges including a compressed programme and the constraints of working in a live environment. As much of the building remained occupied while the fit-out works were undertaken, very careful management of noise and vibration was required. We planned all potentially noisy works in collaboration with building tenants to prevent any disruption to important meetings or events.

The tenants on floor above were required to vacate their premises while the works were undertaken, so we completed all works within a very tight 10 week programme.
