A bit about us...
We have been in business for nearly seven decades and are (a little bit) proud to share that through our values of integrity, responsibility, respect and support, we have established a reputation as a leading construction company across the central and lower North Island. We are proudly employee-owned and have a purpose to build trust through great buildings, great people, and great relationships.
a bit About the role...

We have an exciting opportunity for someone with the right experience, approach and aptitude for altitude, to lead and grow our Health and Safety function.

You will use your well-honed stewardship and influencing skills to shape, guide, advise and support visible safety leadership and best practice across our organisation. You will also actively coach and mentor the wider leadership group, our employees and your H&S team members to ensure health and safety practices are embedded.

A bit about you...

On our wish list is someone with site experience, who enjoys the operational aspect of this sort of role – yet is equally as confident talking strategy with the exec team.  If you are someone with experience identifying and managing critical risks, developing policies and procedures, and reviewing and improving safety systems and processes, then this could be a good job for you!

  • 7+years of significant H&S experience in a senior role
  • Combination of office-based and field/site experience in Health & Safety
  • Expert working knowledge and understanding of the Health & Safety at Work Act 2015 and amendments
  • Outstanding communicator, influencer and relationship builder
  • Solid operational experience in policy development and review, investigations, audits and reporting

You’ll also be leading a focused, dynamic, small but powerful H&S team, made up of our Health & Safety Coordinator (who is well respected across the organisation and busy holding the fort awaiting your arrival!)  as well as a part time Health & Safety Administrator who is an absolute administration guru and who supports both H&S and HR administration.

What's in it for you?
Join our team and enjoy a host of exclusive benefits, including a generous vehicle allowance and Mitre 10 Mega discounts through our staff account. Take advantage of free Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services, Trauma Protection Cover, and Income Protection Cover after just 12 months of dedicated service. Unlock additional rewards with Recruitment Referral, and prioritise your well-being with complimentary annual health checks, an active social club, and participation in our Wellness Programme. We recognise and celebrate your commitment with our Long Service Recognition program, making your career journey with us both fulfilling and rewarding. We also like to support and grow your personal and professional development through on-the-job learning, training courses, and study opportunities.
