Whitireia Polytechnic Faculty of Health - Internal Fit Out

Whitireia Polytechnic Faculty of Health - Internal Fit Out

January 1970
$12.4m

The new Faculty of Health at Whititeria Polytechnic was no small undertaking; the largest construction project ever undertaken by the organisation, it also required a high-specialised interior fit out for medical training.

Accommodating more than 1,000 nursing and paramedic students, the building offers state-of-the-art simulation suites and laboratories. It also has administrative and conference facilities, ensuring students have access to leading experts from around the world.

Maycroft Construction was the lead contractor on the internal fit out, as well as the build itself.
There were two distinctive elements of the fit out. First, the interactive training areas included simulated hospital wards and even a tara ā-whare rūma moe. Second, soundproofed glass sliding doors allowed areas to be quickly reconfigured from classrooms to large conference or meeting spaces.read more

Maycroft Construction is proud of the collaborative efforts of the team working on this build and the facilities now offered to Whitiriea students.
