The Feilding community will enjoy a modern new shopping experience when New World Feilding opens in 2018. Foodstuffs is developing the new supermarket, which will provide a better customer experience with a broader grocery offer, wider aisles, plenty of natural light and ample car parking. The new store replaces an existing ageing supermarket.
We are building the new 2900m2 supermarket on a greenfield site, along with a 7000m2 customer carpark and access roads. The new supermarket comprises a structural steel frame with precast wall panels and a CANZAC joint free floor slab. Vigilant attention detail is required to achieve the joint free CANZAC slab, as the slab must be in a single continuous pour, the concrete specification adhered to and the environmental conditions right.read more
A demanding construction programme and restrictions around landscaping and drainage limits added further challenge. We are delivering the project to a very tight ten month programme, to enable Foodstuffs to complete the fit out of the new supermarket in advance of the scheduled opening date. A very high level of planning is required to achieve the programme. Extreme precision in set out is essential to comply with the landscaping and drainage limits.
Our recommendation for an alternative roofing system was valued by the Client. The RoofLogic system reduces risks of weather delay both during and post construction, while improving the building’s efficiency and comfort levels. It also provides valuable future proofing benefits, enabling Foodstuffs to re-roof the building without disruption to the retail space, as only the top layer of the two-skin system requires replacement.
