Maycroft Construction Limited are pleased to announce they have been awarded the contract to construct the long awaited replacement railway station at Upper Hutt, by Greater Wellington Rail and works have recently commenced on site. The $2.3 million dollar project provides Upper Hutt a modern new facility which reflects the commitment to user friendly transport in the Wellington region, providing commuters with an attractive, safe and comfortable building, with a ticket office, sheltered waiting spaces, public toilets, and facilities for train and bus staff who will use the station as a base throughout their working day. Maycroft will utilise our wealth of experience staging similar projects, allowing the station to continue operating as a major transport hub, with minimal disruption to commuters whilst the new facilities are built.
Maycroft is proudly working in conjunction with Architects HBO+EMTB, and Engineers Aurecon. Demolition of the existing building commences in May 2015 and the new building is expected to be completed within six months. We look forward to the public using and enjoying yet another successful Maycroft project.
