Living classroom teaches kids about the environment

We build so many exciting projects, it’s difficult to pick favourites, but the Discovery Garden at Wellington’s Botanic Gardens definitely holds a special place in our hearts. Designed as a living classroom to teach kids about our natural world, the Garden opened in late 2017. We caught up with Garden Manager David Sole from Wellington City Council to hear how the Discovery Garden is going and to understand WCC’s drivers for undertaking the project.

Maycroft is helping to build Wellington communities

The official opening of the Kotuku Apartments in Kilbirnie is an example of another great partnership between Maycroft Construction and the Wellington City Council. The original apartments, built in the 1960's, consisted of 103 bedsit units. The upgraded 73 apartments now house 114 people as they have been transformed to make them healthier homes and more suitable for families. Historic Centennial Flats restored to better than new

Maycroft Construction are pleased to announce the opening of the Centennial Flats Refurbishment project, completed in two stages for Housing New Zealand Corporation, with design by Giles Alington of Architecture Cubed. A Heritage New Zealand/Pouhere Taonga Category 1 rated structure featuring 45 apartments and a new community centre which will serve Berhampore, we're honoured to have contributed to preserving a part of history, and hope it will be a happy home for the many tenants young and old. Supporting Stacey Herbert

Many of you will have read this story in Saturday’s Dominion Post about Stacey Herbert. Stacey is a courageous young lady who was badly injured in the February 2011 Christchurch earthquake, when The Press building collapsed. Stacey lost both of her legs above the knees, and the Rise Up Stacey Trust is raising funds towards Stacey’s long term goals, such as travelling to the United States to be fitted with the latest technology in prosthetic limbs.
