Check out the Best Practices in Educational Facilities Investments page where Amesbury School, a project completed by Maycroft Construction, gets a special mention on its exemplary design!
We’re so immensely proud of this project. The school was designed, and built, to a 5 Star Green Star Certified Rating, signaling “New Zealand Excellence” under the New Zealand Green Building Council (NZGBC) Education Tool while using 21st Century Learning Principles. It has been two years since project completion and the fact that it is still being recognised, both nationally and internationally, is a credit to the entire design and construction team!
In April 2010, the project was awarded to Maycroft Construction as head of a consortium under the Ministry of Education’s Single Line of Accountability Model. In October 2010, the design and a guaranteed maximum price was agreed, in preparation for construction to begin on a staged building consent process in January 2011 with final completion occurring in January 2012.
The OECD Centre for Effective Learning Environments (CELE) and the European Investment Bank (EIB) launched the “Database of Best Practices in Educational Facilities Investment” on 29 September 2011. It seeks to inform the planning, design, construction, management and evaluation of educational spaces, combining resources for strategic investment in educational infrastructure, with exemplary school and university facilities from all over the world.
