Big congratulations to Designgroup Stapleton Elliott for taking out the Education category with the Weltec School of Construction, Architecture Cubed for the Heritage category with the Centennial Flats Upgrade Opus Architecture for winning the Housing – Multi Unit category with the Kotuku Flats Upgrade. The official opening of the Kotuku Apartments in Kilbirnie is an example of another great partnership between Maycroft Construction and the Wellington City Council. The original apartments, built in the 1960's, consisted of 103 bedsit units. The upgraded 73 apartments now house 114 people as they have been transformed to make them healthier homes and more suitable for families. The team at Maycroft have begun construction of the Queen Margaret College 44 room boarding house in central Wellington. This project continues our great relationship with Queen Margaret College and with the talented team at McKenzie Higham Architects following our construction of the Pre-School in 2015. The construction of the $5.5M boarding house started in early October 2016 and completion is due November 2017, in time for the 2018 school year.
Following on from success at the Wellington and NZ Architecture Awards, Marshall Court flats in Miramar has taken out the top gong for residential projects, at the New Zealand Commercial Project Awards.
